Telangana State Govt Allots Land to Olympics Medallist PV Sindhu
The Silver Medalist Rio Olympics 2016 surely did India Proud. PV Sindhu was the first woman at the Rio Olympics to grab an Olympic Silver Medal. She had almost made it to the finals in a remarkable clash with the World No. 1 shuttler Carolin Marin from Spain. The State Government rewarded the international badminton champion with a cash of Rs. 5 Crores. The State Government had also announced they will allot a residential plot in the State Capital. Today the Telangana State Government issued an order for the same.
Telangana government allotted land to Olympic silver medallist
This order is to allot 1,000 square yards land to the ace shuttler P V Sindhu. This is the token of appreciation as she won a silver medal in the Rio Olympics 2016. The 1000 square yards land is located in a village called Shaikpet in the district of Hyderabad. The Order Said, “The Government (of Telangana), after careful examination, hereby accepts the proposal of the District Collector, Hyderabad that two adjacent plots in Shaikpet village can be combined to carve out a 1,000 square yards plot to allot the same to Miss P V Sindhu, badminton player, for having won a silver medal in Rio Olympics, as a part of Government incentive.”
On the professional front, the two professional badminton players and Olympic medalists PV Sindhu and Spain’s Carolin Marin played the kicked off the PBL. The Premier Badminton League Season 2 saw the Hyderabad Hunters lead with a 4-3 win over Chennai Smashers. In the first game, the Spaniard scored first game and PV Sindhu equaled in the next game. After the tie at 4-4, the Spaniard got the last laugh with a three points’ gap winning at 9-6. The Chennai Smashers took the opening set and the second and third set saw the two not letting their slip away.
