After hacking four top Twitter accounts online and posting abusive tweets, the legion group as it calls itself is back. They were also responsible for two dumps apart from hacking in the past fortnight. This time this group is threatening to hack the accounts of the sansad.nic.in. This is a provider of email services to Government employees. “Next is a dump of sansad-.nic.in emails. Which is — quite big. It includes a lot of _BIG FISH_,” a Legion member told Factordaily.com which is a tech news website in encrypted chat interview. In another interview with ‘Washington Post, releasing’ one other Legion member said that they have access to servers like Apollo Hospital. They also said that as it may cause ‘chaos’ in India, they are not sure about releasing the data from these servers. The hacker group claimed that India’s digital banking systems are vulnerable to these kinds of cyber attacks. The Legion group said, “We… ourselves have confidential data pertaining to NPCI /IDRBT (hub servers, and even have the encryption keys/ certificates used by some banks in India.”
The past fortnight saw an online hacker group called Legion who hacked into the accounts of Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi and a week later hacked the industrialist Vijay Mallya Twitter handles. Then they hacked two senior NDTV journalists Ravish Kumar and Barkha Dutt’s accounts. The hacker group put out 277 files supposedly documents about Vijay Mallya’s personal as well as financial details. These were credit card bills and also scanned copies of his passports too. As for the NDTV Sr. Journalist Barkha Dutt, the group released a “partial” email dump sized 1.2 GB. The hacker group calling itself ‘Legion’ also breached the Congress Party Vice President Rahul Gandhi’s Twitter account that releases Congress data too.
