Airtel’s new ‘Unlimited Data’ plans
Since the launch of Reliance Jio 4G service, Airtel has suffered the most. But, recently it has given a good fight. In this fight, Bharti Airtel today updated its usage policies. And it seems like finally, Airtel is learning how to adapt like Jio, to the new Indian data user who knows that competition brings the prices down!
Now, Airtel users opting for ₹ 199 or above recharge packs will be able to continue at 128 Kbps even after exhausting their daily data usage limit. A feature which only Reliance Jio users have been using till date. For instance, if an Airtel user recharges for ₹ 199 pack, the user will be able to use high speed 1.4 GBs daily for straight 28 days. If the user uses all the high-speed data, then he will be able to browse at 128 Kbps without any extra charge. Along with this, users also enjoy 100 SMS per day and unlimited calling.
The new recharge plans are thus now, ₹ 249 for 2GB unlimited for 28 days, ₹ 399 for 1.4 GB unlimited for 70 days and ₹ 995 for 1GB unlimited for 180 days. These unlimited offers have been launched today and will be available for each customer in 2 or more days.
The ₹ 199 is directed against the Reliance Jio’s 149 plan which offers 1.5 GB of high-speed data for 28 days and then unlimited data at 128 Kbps. At 198, Jio also has a plan of 28 days with 2 GB of high-speed data.
Though Airtel’s new offer is offer sounds good, but it is still costlier than Jio at monthly plans. But, it will be interesting to see more such offers from companies like Airtel, Vodafone and Idea.
