Virat Kohli – Captain of Cricket Australia One Day Team of the Year
The Star Cricketer Virat Kohli bestowed with the honour of being titled the Captain of Cricket Australia’s One Day team of the year. Cricket Australia Board Title fit the Indian Star’s as much as his 2016 dream runs that began with his heroic limited over series in that country. Jasprit Bumrah has also made it to the Australian Team of the Year. Virat Kohli will feel all the more special because he was not the Team India’s One Day Team captain he was preferred over the country’s own cricket captain Steve Smith. Australia defeated India 4-1 in January’s One Day Series played. In January he opened the One Day International Series with a super 91 at Perth, Australia. Later he registered scores of 59, 117 and 106.
In the Twenty20 Series, the cricket star was equally brilliant and led the three matches series with an amazing 90 Not Out, 59 Not Out and 50 Not Out. At the World Twenty20 2016 in Mohali, Virat Kohli once again showed off his best batting unbeaten 82. The CA said in a statement, “India’s skipper played only 10 ODI matches in 2016, but he again underlined his status as one of the best in the 50-over format.” It added, “He now averages an incredible 90.10 in 59 successful run chases for India, and has been out in the middle for the winning runs on 20 occasions.”
The Aussies also love the cricketer’s approach to the game on the field. The right-handed batsman Kohli was selected as the ICC One-Day International Team of the Year. He scored over 45 in 8/10 year’s innings. He hit consecutive centuries against Australia in January. He scored 154 not out more than half his team’s goal against New Zealand.
