Earlier in 2016, the honorable Chief Minister of Telangana, Megastar Chiranjeevi and other biggies in the Telugu Film Industry graced the first clap function of the film Gautamiputra Satakarni and the Chief Minister wished the whole team of Gautamiputra Satakarni for choosing such an amazing script and also expressed his interest that he would be thankful if the actor Nandamuri Balakrishna and director Krish Jagarlamudi could show him the movie on the first day.
The actor Nandamuri Balakrishna has promised KCR that he will invite him to the premier show and he kept up his promise by inviting the Chief Minister today at his cabin in the assembly premises.

The Telangana Government to encourage other directors to come up with such movies based on history has exempted the movie from Entertainment tax. And the actor Balakrishna thanked the CM for granting the tax exemption.

Gautamiputra Satakarni is the 100th Film of Nandamuri Balakrishna and is directed by Krish Jagarlamudi.
The film stars Shreya Saran as Gautamiputra Satakarni’s wife and Hema Malini as Satakarni’s mother Gautami Balashri.
The film is all set to release on 12th January 2017 and will stand in the Sankranthi race with Megastar Chiranjeevi’s 150th film Khaidi No.150 and Dil Raju’s Shatamanam Bhavathi.

The movie is based on a great Telugu ruler Satakarni who belongs to the Satavahanas dynasty. Satakarni was called as the King of Kings and was the most respected person in the various king’s circles and he ruled right from to Malwa and Saurashtra in the north to Krishna river in the south. And from Konkan in the west to Vidharba in the east.Satakarni was the inspiration for Chattrapati Shivaji.Gautami Satakarni was called as the lord of Vindhyavat, Pariyatra, Sahya, Krishnagiri, Malaya, Mahendra, Chakori and Sreshta-giri mountains.
