Coffee With D Cast: Zakir Hussain, Sunil Grover, Anjana Sukhani, Pankaj Tripathi and Dipannitha Sharma.
Director: Vishal Mishra
Runtime: 2 Hours and 3 minutes.
Story: The story revolves around a famous journalist who faces a low in his career and at gets a chance to interview a dreaded don. And the famous journalist is none other than Arnab( Sunil Grover ) and it is completely fictional and nowhere related to the real life story of Arnab Goswami, the man whom the nation knows.
Coffee With D Review: Many fear even taking his name, but Vishal Mishra did take the brave step by making a movie on Dawood Ibrahim by using his real name on the screen and he must be appreciated for that. But what didn’t work for the movie was it’s poor execution and post prediction.
You can see Arnab only once in the whole movie thumping the table and questioning the panellists “India wants to know”. Arnab fails to impress his boss and as a result, he is shifted to the cooking show. Now he wants to make a comeback and while he is eagerly waiting for a chance to prove himself, he gets a chance to interview the Don. The first half is little dragged and you can see most of the people staring at each other than at the other. However, the second half is better and the interview is really well worded at last.
Positives: Sunil Grover’s acting as SRK lookalike.
Zakir Hussain as D
Negatives:1. Sluggish first half
2. Bad post production work like out of sync voices.
Finally, it’s a brilliant script and good actors, which went bad when it came to execution.
