After scoring a hit with comedy film ‘Ami Tumi’, director Indraganti has directed romantic drama ‘Sammohanam’.

Story:

Vijay (Sudheer Babu) is a children books illustrator. He hates films and film stars. But, eventually, he falls for Sameera (Aditi Rao) who is a heroine. How this change Vijay’s life did forms the story of the movie?

Performances:

Sudheer Babu is growing as an actor with each film. It is clearly evident that he has improved his acting skills a lot. He is appreciable in this role of common guy falling in love with a movie star. His chemistry with Aditi is also good.

Aditi who enthralled us all in Mani Ratnam’s ‘Cheliya’ looks perfect in her role. She has pulled off the role of a movie star with so much ease. Surprisingly, her Telugu dialogues (she dubbed her own voice) are near perfect for a first timer. She impresses with her beauty as well as with her acting skills.

The other actor who gets lot of space in the film is Naresh as the father of Sudheer Babu whose sole aim is to act in films. His character is perfectly used.

Technicalities:

The director, Mohan Krishna Indraganti has opted for a very sensible love story and narrated it at his own pace. Not even a single scene looks rushed and the director deserves the credit for this. Sammmohanam will surely be one of the best works in his career.

The camera work is clap worthy as the rich locales of Manali have been captured brilliantly. A few love episodes have been taken notch higher, thanks to some stunning work behind the lens from PG Vinda.

The production values of the movie are really good as every scene looks rich and vibrant. The music album runs with the narrative and songs have been executed well on screen.

Final Analysis:

Sammohanam is impressive from the beginning to the end. A simple tale has been told effectively with soulful music and brilliant performances. The characters of the lead actors were designed pretty well. Aditi Rao is beautiful in the movie as Sameera and added a lot of strength to the role she played.

The first half of the film concentrates on setting up the mood with some great moments and the second half introduces the conflict. The natural comedy, impressive performances and soulful music are the major highlights of the movie.
