The registrations for Common Admission Test (CAT) 2018, the entrance examination for admission into the 20 Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and other business schools, has begun today. The registration will end on September 19 at 5 pm.
The IIMs will conduct the computer-based CAT 2018 test on Sunday, November 25, 2018 in two sessions across 147 centres in India.
Candidates applying under the general category will have to pay Rs 1900 as CAT registration fee while those under SC/ST/PwD quota will be charged a reduced rate of Rs 950. Payment has to be made through online mode only.
As per an IIM-Calcutta statement, CAT 2018 will be conducted in two sessions. After submission of applications, candidates will be allowed to download admit cards from 24 October onwards, till the day of test.
Students who qualify the CAT exam will have to then apply separately to their desired institutes.
From this year, even the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) will accept CAT scores for admission to its newly started MBA programmes. The management programme will be offered through its School of Management and Entrepreneurship.
