Nokia X5 to officially launch on July 18


An await for Nokia X5 now come to an end, HMD Global has all but confirmed the launch date for the much-rumored Nokia X5. After the July 11 event was cancelled for unspecified reasons, the Nokia X5 will now be launched tomorrow (July 18).
According to a Weibo post by the manufacturer, the Nokia X5 will now launch on Wednesday, 18th of July. When it launches it will be the second phone with a notched display from HMD Global.

The Nokia X5 is expected to feature a 5.86-inch HD+ display with 19:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood is likely to be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600-series chipset or a MediaTek Helio P60 SoC. A recent leak however points towards two variants – base variant powered by a Helio P23 SoC, and a top-end variant powered by a Helio P60 SoC.
On the camera front, both the models of the Nokia X5 will sport dual cameras on the rear panel. On the back, the phone is said to consist of a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor coupled with an LED flash. Next to the camera on the rear panel will sit the fingerprint sensor. On the front, the Nokia phone is expected to boast of an 8-megapixel sensor. The Nokia X5 will run on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and be backed by a 3000mAh battery.

Alongside the specs, the price of the Nokia X5 has also been leaked. According to a new report, the Nokia X5 will launch with a starting price tag of CNY 1,000, which roughly translates to Rs 10,000. An earlier report had suggested that the phone could be priced under Rs 10,000.
