MS Dhoni becomes highest income tax payer in Jharkhand


Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been the highest individual tax-payer in Jharkhand for the financial year of 2017-18, said an income tax official on Monday. Dhoni paid Rs 12.17 crore for the last fiscal year.
“Dhoni had paid Rs 10.93 crore as income tax in 2016-17 but he was not the highest taxpayer in that fiscal,” said chief commissioner of Income Tax, Jharkhand region, V Mahalingam.

According to Forbes, Dhoni is the third highest earning cricketer in India behind Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar. Forbes India’s list of the celebrities with highest earnings in 2017 has listed him at No 8 in the country with estimated earnings of Rs. 63.7 crore.
Dhoni recently became the only cricketer to enter 10,000 ODI runs club with a batting average of over 50. He had also become the third fastest Indian to join the league after Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly.
